Set up an effective morning routine and stick to it.

Improve your productivity, energy, relationships, and other areas of your life.

Many of us wake up in the morning and rush to get ready to work.

But there are some productive morning habits that help you have a better day.

Everyone wakes up in the morning, but what you do first is a bonus to your day.

This is the most important time of the day. This is the moment for you to set the tone for the rest of the day. Lay a good foundation for it.

Getting up first thing in the morning can be a stressful experience if you do not take care of it.

Here are some habits that you can adopt, after getting up early in the morning. These habits may help you achieve your goals.

1. Get up right away.

Do not let the morning alarm ring on and on.

Get up right away.

Do a simple stretch before you get up.

Snoozing the alarm once or twice and going back to sleep will not give you a healthy sleep.

You may subconsciously decide to continue sleeping.

Maybe you cannot work effectively after getting up straight or are used to it.

You can set the alarm time a few minutes earlier than usual. Also, try using a soft or soothing alarm tone and not any kind of loud music.

2. Make your bed.

It makes the space around you good and worth living in.

Arrange your pillows and fold your blankets.

Keep your bed sheets tucked in.

This is a good start to your day as this is as this is easily and efficiently completed.

It is your first accomplishment of the morning.

And when you come home in the evening, you find a neat and tidy bed welcoming you.

3. Drink water.

Water is essential for our bodily functions and it hydrates your body.

Adult humans are 60% water, and our blood is 90% water.

Human brain cells have about 80% water.

So, your brain needs a constant supply of water to work continuously and efficiently.

When you wake up in the morning, you just slept 7 to 8 hours and did not drink water.

Your body is dehydrated.

Drinking a glass or two of water re-hydrates your body.

This will switch on your metabolism, which gives you a positive effect.

4. Exercise and get some sunlight.

Exercise and workout to release those endorphins. It is an amazing way to start the day.

Endorphins are chemicals produced in the brain. They help to minimize pain and discomfort, increase willpower, and are also the body’s own painkillers. They also reduce stress.

You do not need to work out too long or even intensely.

Just do something simple like doing one type of a particular workout or stretching or going for a walk.

This is to wake your body up and get your blood flowing.

You will feel good when those endorphins are released, and your energy levels have increased.

So, it is a good thing to exercise your body in the morning.

Better still, do your exercises out of your house in the morning and let your body have some fresh light.

Sunlight is good for you.

The sunlight tells your body that it is time to start the day. It tells your body to stop producing melatonin, the sleep hormone.

5. Take a shower.

This will make you feel good and energized from the inside out.

Bathe, groom and take care of your body.

Your skin will feel great and smooth.

Feel fresh all over.

A cold shower will be better of course.

6. Drink tea or coffee.

Drink tea, coffee, milk, or any hot beverage.

Some people are tea or coffee lovers.

If a cup of tea or coffee starts you on the right foot, then go for it.

Some people cannot live without it.

A dose of caffeine will keep you active and make your brain efficient.

Drinking tea or coffee in moderation has some health benefits, too.

At the same time, make it at home to save yourself some money.

7. Have breakfast.

Do not miss your breakfast.

Having your breakfast within an hour or two after getting up helps your body function normally.

Missing your breakfast is bad for you.

Have a healthy breakfast.

Eat proteins, grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy items.

Get your first fuel for the day.

8. Plan.

Plan. Not necessary a detailed plan. Write it down.

You can also do this the previous day, right before you sleep. And then you revisit this list first thing in the morning.

But it should be a list of the tasks or things you want to accomplish the next day. Not major nor necessarily important, but which you must do.

And it should cover how you want to spend the first few hours of the day.

It helps to plan for the small things that might slow you down.

You will have more willpower and energy to make decisions about other important things during the day.

Avoid decision fatigue.

Afterthoughts

The goal you are aiming for with these habits is to kick-start your day right. They give you a sense of direction.

Apply them in your life in slowly and steadily. Make them a part of your morning routine.

The best time to start new healthy habits is now. Do not procrastinate please.

You will start to see that your mornings are wonderful rather than harrowing.

Simply marvellous.

May you all be well and happy.
